We encounter dust everywhere. Dusting occurs in yards, streets, gravel roads, industry, mines, and construction sites. Dust causes major problems: aesthetic, hygienic, health, in addition to damage to work machines and devices.
Dust binding
Typically, dust binding is carried out using only water. However, in dry and warm weather, water evaporates quickly and dust formation resumes soon after. This increases the need for watering and significantly raises water consumption. A proper dust binding agent, combined with effective methods, enables efficient and long-lasting dust control with a significantly lower amount of water.

Bio-Binder product family
Our selection includes biopolymer solutions for dust binding and various surface stabilization needs, based on wood-derived sugars, lignin, or cellulose. The Bio-Binder product family provides natural, biodegradable alternatives to synthetic polymers. Biopolymers can be used in many application areas, such as:

Bio-Binder LWS
Liquid dust-binding agent

Bio-Binder LWS is a dust binding agent based on wood lignin and sugars, which can be used in road environments as well as a film-forming agent. In road dust control, it gradually forms a hard surface layer, after which only a diluted solution is needed to bind new dust generated from the environment onto the road surface. As a film-forming agent, a single application creates a hard and durable film on the surface of the protected material (e.g., a dusting stockpile).
Bio-Binder FLWS

Bio-Binder FLWS is similar to LWS, but the key difference is its adjustable frost resistance. This enables reliable performance in winter conditions as well, making the product suitable for year-round use.
Bio-Binder WS

Bio-Binder WS is a fully biodegradable product based solely on wood sugars, particularly suitable for road dust control. In road applications, the solution gradually forms a hard surface layer, after which only a diluted solution is needed to bind newly formed dust from the environment.
Bio-Binder FWS

Bio-Binder FWS is a mixture of formate and sugar for road dust control. It combines the dust binding properties of two raw materials: one attracts atmospheric moisture, keeping the surface damp, while the other binds particles in the road structure together.

Eco-Binder product family
Kemion’s Eco-Binder product series contains environmentally friendly and biodegradable products for dust binding and dust control. The substances can also be used in sensitive nature areas, such as groundwater areas, due to their biodegradability. In addition to dust control, the products can be used to stabilise various surfaces and piles and thus reduce the dissolution of harmful substances and their migration into the soil, groundwater, and waterways.
The dust-binding ability of Eco-Binder products is based on either collecting moisture from the air to moisten the surface (hygroscopicity) or binding the dusty substance into larger entities (agglomeration). In both methods, the formation of dust in the air is reduced. Agglomeration can also reduce the solubility of harmful substances in the environment.
Eco-Binder F

Eco-Binder F is an environmentally sustainable and rapidly biodegradable dust binding agent. The solution is an excellent alternative to traditional salt for use on various traffic routes and yard areas, among other applications. It is particularly well suited for binding asphalt dust.
The product has frost resistance down to -50 °C, making it highly suitable for street dust control in early spring and late autumn during nighttime frost conditions. Thanks to its high frost resistance, the product can be easily stored year-round.
The product can be diluted as needed to achieve the desired application concentration. It is also suitable for use in groundwater areas.
Eco-Binder G

Eco-Binder G is a modern vegetable fat-based dust binding agent that is environmentally sustainable and quickly biodegradable in the soil. Product is free from salt and is a very good solution for areas where material effects and possible problems related to electrical conductivity must be minimised. The product is particularly suitable for areas where the product is in contact with human or animal skin: for example, sports fields, playgrounds, and riding arenas.
Eco-Binder GF
Liquid dust-binding agent, 100% biodegradable

Unique in its composition, Eco-Binder GF is a new, multi-effective dust-binding agent that completely biodegrades in the soil. The product is versatile for various applications where an effective and fast dust-binding result is needed, from yard roads to mines.

C-Binder L is an effective dust-binding agent based on calcium chloride, which can be used for, e.g. real estate, urban areas, parking areas, industrial areas, ports, and mines. The power of the solution is based on its ability to strongly bind moisture from the air and thereby reduce dust significantly.
C-Binder SF
Solid dust-binding solution

C-Binder SF is a calcium chloride based dust-binding flake. The product works particularly well for dust binding of gravel roads and other unpaved areas.
C-Binder Bio

C-Binder Bio is a new, dual-effect dust-binding solution developed by Kemion, which is based on its ability to chemically bind fine matter and reduce dust by maintaining moisture in the material. The environmental impact of the solution is clearly lower than traditional salt solutions. The effective solution keeps the treated area moist and dust-free. Suitable for use on, e.g., real estate, urban areas, parking areas, industrial areas, sports fields, riding arenas, ports, and mines.
