On 1 November 2024, Bang & Bonsomer Group Oy acquired the entire share capital of Kemion Oy
Kemion Oy, a Finnish chemical company founded in 2013. Kemion’s core business is the production, marketing, and sale of safe and environmentally friendly service, maintenance, and process chemicals. Through long-term research, testing, and product development, Kemion’s application know-how is among the best in the market.
The primary application areas for Kemion’s products and services include de-icing and ice melting, dust binding, corrosion protection, cooling technology, and heat transfer. Kemion aims to offer its customers environmentally sustainable and safe solutions that provide efficient alternatives to traditional products, particularly in de-icing and dust control. These environmentally friendly solutions help customers better allocate resources while addressing environmental and material impacts. The products are rapidly biodegradable and their corrosion impacts on equipment and infrastructure are minimised.
Bang & Bonsomer, headquartered in Finland, is a smart material technology company providing a wide range of industrial raw materials and additives to various industries, operating in 11 countries. The company is divided into five business divisions, each serving different industrial sectors. In 2023, Bang & Bonsomer achieved a turnover of €170 million and employed more than 300 people.
This acquisition will further strengthen Bang & Bonsomer’s position, especially in environmental technology and process chemistry applications. Kemion will become part of the Environment & Industry business division, which focuses on water treatment, energy production applications, and process chemistry solutions.
